VISION

TIMBERLEA BAPTIST CHURCH

In 1953 Timberlea Baptist Church was founded with the vision of bringing the message of Jesus Christ to the Beechville, Lakeside, Timberlea Community. In 2023 we will celebrate 70 years of seeing God at work in and through those who have faithfully aligned their lives with this vision. Standing on this legacy, and responding to God’s call to now reach a growing community that needs this message more then ever our desire is in 2023 to be:

A church rooted in the gospel of Jesus Christ; where families can find love, joy, peace, acceptance, and hope in all seasons of life. This looks like:

Welcoming people each week to our Worship Services for the purpose of praising God | Regularly celebrating those being baptized as they chose to trust in Jesus as their Lord and Savior; and | Providing a safe space for people from every age demographic to reflect on and ask questions about how the Christian faith intersects with their life experience.

A church growing to understand who God created them to be; where families are equipped to understand God’s purpose for their lives and their gifts and talents for loving God and loving others. This looks like:

80% of Active attenders involved in our Community Group ministry where people learn, care for, and are on mission with one another | being sustained by a culture of prayer that directs our focus, guides, comforts, and encourages | Teaching and training monthly on topics including: spiritual disciplines, spiritual gifts, discipleship, and family life.

A church reaching out into our neighborhood; where families are empowered by the Holy Spirit to walk alongside and love those in need: spiritually, physically, and emotionally. This looks like:

Commissioning church members to live missionally in their homes, workplaces, schools, and neighborhoods; Actively participating and promoting involvement in community-wide events and initiatives in the BLT area | Working alongside and growing in relationship with regional and international ministry partners.
