Background

Our family origins are Zambia in South Central Africa.  We came to Canada as international students in 1988.  I pastored three churches over fifteen years and then served ten years as a Regional Minister with the Canadian Baptists of Atlantic Canada.  Since 2013, we have been serving as missionaries with Serving in Mission Canada.  We have split time between Canadian ministries of intercultural connections and the international mission field primarily in Zambia doing pastoral leadership and community development.

What I do for Fun!

I enjoy watching many sports, but my true love is soccer - I continue to play, coach and referee as often as I can. I coached all 4 girls as children and adults. Our family enjoys travelling together and most recently came back from a combined family and mission trip to Zambia in 2018. In Zambia we joined family from home and abroad to celebrate mom’s 90th birthday in her 92nd year.  We have also traveled as a family all over Canada, the United States and the United Kingdom.  My mother in-law used to live and work in Manchester England.

Our family

I have been married to my wife and ministry partner Sheena for 38 years and we have 4 lovely daughters.  Miriam lives in Toronto and works in Human Resources.  Her husband is in law school here in Nova Scotia.  Mercy and her family live in Bedford.  She is legal counsel for a corporation headquartered in Halifax. Martha graduated with a degree in Sociology and works in community development in Halifax.  Monica studied Journalism and has held several different roles in radio, print and media relations and now works in the health and wellness industry. The girls graduated from Dalhousie University (2), McGill Faculty of Law, the University of Kings College and Saint Mary’s University. Sheena and I both completed our Masters degrees at Acadia University (Sheena’s in Counselling and mine in Divinity). I have also since graduated with a Doctorate of Ministry from Acadia University.

Closing thought

In these uncertain times, may I leave you with God’s assuring promise found in Jeremiah 29:11:

11 For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.

Blessings as we serve the Lord.

In Christ Jesus
